1. Who we are and these terms
Board Bear is a game operated by JK Bears Digital, trading as Board Bear, based in the Netherlands. These terms apply to boardbear.app and the Board Bear Android app. Contact us at info@jkbearsdigital.com. By using the game you agree to these terms, subject to your mandatory rights under applicable law.
2. Playing and accounts
You may play the available guest mode without an account; guest progress is stored on your device and may be lost if you clear its storage. An account saves eligible progress, scores, coins and unlocked items. You must be at least 13 to create an account; where local law requires parental consent for minors, obtain it before registering or purchasing. Keep your login details secure and provide accurate account information. Do not cheat, abuse purchases, interfere with the game or impersonate others.
3. Virtual items and leaderboards
Coins, diamonds, boards, bear skins and mode unlocks are digital game features, not money or property. They cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred between players. Availability and prices are displayed before purchase. Player names, selected avatars and scores may appear on public leaderboards. We may correct errors, prevent fraud and adjust game content, while respecting any rights you have in paid digital content.
4. Purchases on the web
Web purchases use Stripe checkout. Paid items and currency packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions or automatically renewing charges. The price and applicable currency shown at checkout govern your order. Stripe processes payment details; Board Bear records the order and unlocks eligible content after successful payment confirmation. If payment fails or an unlock is missing, contact us with your purchase information. Do not send us full card details.
5. Android purchases
The Android app is prepared for Google Play Billing, but in-app purchases and receipt verification are not yet active in the current build. Do not assume an Android purchase is available until it is shown as available in the app and confirmed by Google Play. Once enabled, Google Play will process those purchases under its payment terms and refund procedures, alongside your mandatory consumer rights. “Restore purchases” cannot unlock unverified purchases while verification is unavailable.
6. Cancellations, refunds and chargebacks
For web purchases, contact us at info@jkbearsdigital.com with the order details to request help or a refund. For future Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s refund process or contact us. EU/EEA consumers may have a statutory withdrawal right for distance purchases; exceptions for digital content depend on the legally required consent, acknowledgement and commencement of supply. We do not assume your rights have been waived. Other statutory remedies for defective or unavailable digital content remain unaffected. When a payment is refunded, reversed or charged back, associated access or credited virtual currency may be removed, subject to applicable law.
7. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the game available, but maintenance, connectivity and device limitations may interrupt it. Do not rely on uninterrupted access. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections. Any other limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Account closure and changes
You can download your game data and request account deletion in the game’s account settings. Deletion removes game progress and purchases from the account; independent payment-provider records may remain under their own legal duties. We may update these terms and show a revised date. Material changes will be communicated appropriately; if you do not agree, stop using the service and contact us about your rights.
9. Applicable law and contact
Dutch law applies, without taking away mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Nothing here limits your right to bring a claim before a competent court where mandatory law permits it. For questions or complaints, email info@jkbearsdigital.com.
